(Tfw you realize your last post was 200 days ago oops) I guess I’ve decided to turn this blog into a public diary..? I guess my life isn’t too interesting but it’s nice to let your thoughts out once in awhile. Writing (typing?) out the thoughts I usually keep to myself helps me organize my mind whilst still improving my writing and continuing to feel productive, so I think this is a good direction for my blog to go. First of all, I’d like to just thank everyone who still views my blog for being there with me through these years and multiple different phases. It’s hard to wrap my mind around how many years I’ve been writing this blog – I started when I was only 10 years old! The Animal Jam community was (and still is) super supportive and by the time I was 12 I’d reached 23, 000 views. It’s almost crazy to imagine how many people actually read my little blog. Fast forward 3 years from then, and there’s still a little girl who loves to write, finds comfort in sharing her stories with anyone who will listen, and believes that a single idea can change the world. So here I sit, listening to the silver-grey fan whirl the summer heat away, smelling the coconut-lime fragrance that has tinted the air, and feeling gratitude towards the life lessons and sense of self the blogging community has helped me discover.
Okay, so I’m not bad at all sports. I love to play badminton and I dance ballet, but I cannot for the life of me play volleyball. I’m so bad at volleyball, I can’t even play it without getting hit in the head at least once. You must be asking: “Why do you play it then?” Well to that I answer: I have it for gym. Although I haven’t learnt much from the class (meaning I still suck), I’ve learnt some pretty valuable life lessons.
Here’s some context in full dramatized glory:
I’m scared. I can’t. The white ball is hurling at me at I don’t know how many miles per hour. Backing up, I crouch and hit the ball as hard as I can, trying to make it fly up so someone else can hit it. The ball zooms and Continue reading
Winter break is over, and so are the days of waking up at noon. School is back and the nights of seemingly endless homework are just about to begin. Since reading my complaints about school isn’t the most interesting, I’ll just write an (exaggerated) account of a normal student’s (my) life. (Cause where better to post my exaggerated stories than the internet?)
6:00 am. Too early to open my eyes, too early to get out of bed. My phone alarm screams from under my pillow. “Turn it off.” I whisper, half hoping my alarm will understand me. I want to crawl back under the warmth of my blankets. But I know I have to be up and ready within a few minutes.
7:05 am. Running. I’m going to miss it. The yellow school bus turns the corner, and I’m racing to actually catch it this time. Cold air freezes my breath and turns it into silver mist. I’m finally in the bus. I greet the bus driver and sit at my normal seat, right beneath the heater. I made it.
7:45 am. The school bell rings. I’m so tired. I’m lucky to have study hall first block. Out into the freezing cold again, I speed walk to my classroom. The standard blue chairs are arranged in a circle. There are no desks, but this study never has desks anyways. Typing, typing an essay for another hour.
8:40 – 10:20 am. Math and science are back to back. I need to study for all the midterms coming up. Please be lunch soon. Math tests are graded. My heart beats a little faster then slows as I realize my grade. I need to work harder.
10:30. Art class. Finally a break. I’m quietly sitting at my desk in the corner, still thinking about math. I’m stressing out, but can’t do anything to calm myself. I take a deep breath, and try to push my disappointments out of my head. It’s hard, but finally I focus on my project.
11:15. It’s lunch, but I suddenly don’t feel hungry anymore. I sit, feeling outside of the world, alone in my thoughts, wondering if I could have done better. I talk to a few people, eat a little bit of food, but concentrate on the project I didn’t Continue reading
Merry (late) Christmas everyone!! I hope you had an amazing Christmas; I know I did. I could list why the holiday season is the BEST time of year forever, but here are my top eight. 😊
1. NO SCHOOL!
Waking up late, watching video after video on YouTube. No further explanation needed.
Don’t you agree that food just tastes better when it’s the holidays? Warm hot chocolate, buttery sugar cookies with those green sprinkles, the cinnamon-y gingerbread men – all while sitting near fireplace looking out on a winter wonderland. (Or a tropical beach depending on where you live)
Vibrant reds, greens and gold lights glitter from every lamppost and drape around every tree. Various Santas smile from every corner, three wise men bestow gifts upon a little baby Jesus. Christmas trees sparkle with colorful ornaments and wreathes and bows decorate wooden doors. This is definitely the most wonderful time of year. ❤️
4. GIVING AND RECEIVING
(I’m looking at the word “receiving” and it doesn’t look like it’s spelled right in caps but oh well)
Gift-giving has to be my favorite part of the holidays. The joy giving presents brings you and the other person is one of the best feelings in the world! Also, it’s fun to go shopping for presents. (Well mostly I just like shopping 😂)
5. HOLIDAY SALES
Cause I like to buy stuff… enough said.
6. HOLIDAY SCENTED EVERYTHING!
Ever wondered what the holidays smell like? Well, I guess lots of people did because there’s holiday scented everything – candles, bath bombs, pencils, and everything in between, and I absolutely love it. Pine, cedar, gingerbread spice, I promise it smells like snow (and I don’t even know what snow smells like)
7. SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
The holiday season is really about community, about everyone coming together to celebrate hope and love, and have lots of fun! The beauty and enjoyment of the holidays is even better when it’s spent with others.
Haiii Jammers! 😀
As cliche as this sounds, it feels like just yesterday I was frequently posting. But then I look at the date of my last post – July? How could I go 5 months without posting anything? Nonetheless, thank you so, so much for 40,000 views. I can’t believe that this blog gets so many views even when I don’t post!
Okay, so I need your help: what I just wrote random stuff on this blog? (comment below so I can get some feedback haha)
I have tons of ideas: I can post funny, awkward moments in my life, talk about completely random, useless stuff (because everyone loves wasting time on the internet am I right?), write a few stories, give advice, and anything else that comes to mind! While my passion for AJ might be slowly fading, my love for writing will always shine bright. I think this blog should reflect that. 😀
Have an amazing day!
Hey Jammers! Vanillarainbow here. Anddd, I got some Animal Jam toys! (Yay!) I took lots of pictures, so, let’s jump right into the post.
So, I was shopping in Walmart just the other day when I remembered that ANIMAL JAM TOYS WERE SELLING IN WALMART! And after searching the whole store very hard, we found AJ TOYSSS. As you can see in the picture above 😛
So I bought two, brought them home, and was too excited to open them. So you get this bad quality photo, heh ^
And then with a lot of struggle, (how do they fit so much stuff in that tiny house thing?!) I managed to open them! Check these out!
Awh, they look sooo cute.
They come with some pretty neat accessories that you can take off, or swap with other pets. … If for some reason you want a kangaroo with wings on its head..?
And they’re super tiny, look at this kangaroo in my hand! (And my hand is pretty small soo..)
These little guys come not only with a stackable house, but they also with a checklist and an online code.
I think you get different gifts for each pet, (I’m not sure because I gave the other code to someone) but I got 500 gems for my turtle.
You also get an online checklist for all the codes you enter! Sooo cool!
You just click on the toy box button, and check out all the cool little stickers you’ve collected!
So yeah, that’s about it! Let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more posts on “Real Life” Animal Jam stuff (like Animal Jam events and items IRL). Thank you so much for reading, and I’ll cya in Jamaa!
Hellooo everyone! And today is a Thursday so yay! AJ update! Sooo, sloths are here now, and they have to be among the derpiest (is that even a word) animals in the whole Jamaa. And in saying derpy, I mean silly and quirky and cute. And that’s exactly what AJ’s new animal is!
I mean just look at the derpiliciousness
LOOK AT IT
… Okay moving on, we have the pet hummingbirds! Hummingbirds are some of my favorite birds, and I’m so happy to see them in Jamaa again 🙂 (Even though I wasn’t even here when they left, heh)
Anddd… The princess outfit! Here is an outfit for all those fab jammers out there who want to rock their inner Animal Jam princess.
Here we have Jamaalidays in July, which AJ does every year. Cause apparently in Jamaa they celebrate Christmas twice a year, hahah. So make sure you visit the Jamaaliday Jam party to join in some real summer-winter fun! (I am making no sense at all)
So it looks like you can turn off the player icons in your den. I never knew player icons even existed, but apparently you can turn them off now soo… yea.
And Graham’s Worshop will be going in a few weeks, so make sure you stop by, and craft all the items you can! Wow that sounded to much like minecraft to me, I have no idea why. (I am very hyper right now if you can’t tell heheh)
Speaking of things going away for a while, cheetahs will be traveling soon! But, while they’re gone, kangaroos will be coming back! Why AJ, why? Does Jamaa not have enough space for all these animals? Well, I guess it does have a few million players to fit in but, “why do they have to go?” Hsm reference right there ;D (Who else loves High School Musical?)
Here’s a cool little “fun fact” area about sloths. I had no idea that some slots can turn their heads 360 degrees. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me.
And to end this update post, you’ll get this super cute pet meerkat if you redeem an Animal Jam gift card now! So yeah, pretty sweet.
Anddd, that’s the end of this little Animal Jam Update recap post thing. Thanks for reading, and for bearing with my slight hyperness (trust me, if I’m actually super hyper you do not want me to write a post – it will make absolutely no sense at all.)
SEE YA IN JAMAAA!!
